required structural (including masonry, cement, framing, roofing, landscaping, and demolition) building
permits needed. Electrical, Plumbing, heating and cooling, and chemical removing (ie: asbestos) permits
can only be pulled by licensed and insured contractors of that trade, not by a general contractor.

The answer to the question will depend on the city where the project is located. All city codes are
different. In general, almost every city in the area will require a permit when the project includes
replacement of any structural aspect of the home.
